Originally from Evanston, IL (Go ‘Kits!), Rob earned his BBA in Marketing and a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!). Subsequently, he received an MA in Digital Marketing from Concordia College (Go Clippers!) where he was at once a marketing services provider, student, course auditor and course designer.
After initial forays in finance, the Global Recession compelled Rob to pivot back to his marketing roots. Joining Miami-based SDSol Technologies as Marketing Manager, his successful digital marketing campaigns led SDSol to have him strategize digital marketing services and, alongside an offshore office, fulfillment.
Rob’s digital marketing career accelerated in 2011 when he joined O3M Directional Marketing as Director of Client Services. What was initially a 3-month contract to work in Chennai (Whistle Podu!), turned into 12+ years of fostering client success and his own professional growth. With Internet connectivity (pre-Jio) spurring rising purchasing power and a growing consumer base, India was ripe for online growth—a truly unique opportunity for which Rob is forever grateful.
Alongside colleagues at O3M, Rob fulfilled outsourced advertising packages for more 150,000 campaigns globally while supporting 500+ direct clients in the Indian market. As O3M was in the first batch of agencies to join the Google Ads India Partner/Channel Sales program, Rob enjoyed educating and enabling Indian companies of all sizes to connect with their customers online. Rob remains a familiar face throughout the Indian digital marketing space, having delivered countless speeches and lectures, and participating in scores of roundtables. He also enjoyed acting and voiceover work for tiny parts in large Tamil films.
Based on interest, ability and success, Rob has developed a specialization in SEO consulting for publishers. He enjoys balancing the excitement of the newsroom with the realities of the technical team and the needs of monetization. Rob contributed to The South First’s moving from a fresh domain to hundreds of thousands visitors from Google Search, News and Discover, Comscore naming Dinamani the #1 Tamil-language news site, and the continued SEO-driven growth of The New Indian Express. Additionally, Rob designed and taught a two-week digital marketing program at several of Tamil Nadu’s top universities.
After returning to the US, Rob joined Crigloo, an omni-channel ad-tech platform, ad Fractional CRO. During his tenure Rob defined the agency-support roadmap, brought in new client business, and won inclusion into, and funding from, the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business's Desai accelerator startup incubator.
Rob is now primarily focused on helping Mambo Media's clients thrive via thoughtful marketing strategy and execution programs.
